I took my daughter Shelley and her fellow Mike Gar fishing recently and we all snagged a pretty nice one. This was Mike's first Gar ever.

Longnose Gar pull like a racehorse with long line striping runs, they can make huge athletic jumps into the air, and guess what, the thrill ain't over until you release it unharmed to fight again. You see, you just never know what they're going to do, either in the water or in your boat!!!

It's not for the meek and a challenge of a lifetime for those who are up to it.

Longnose Gar Fishing Guide Trip Rates

Day trips.

$450 - 5 hours or more. (Sometimes I just can't stop!) $25 - Per extra guest up to 2.

Mail your (not refundable) deposit of $100 to secure your date. If bad weather prevents our trip we will reschedule. Trip prevention due to bad weather will be at my discretion.

Your guide rate entitles you to tap my knowledge of Longnose Gar Fishing, Gar Fishing techniques, and locations that Longnose Gar can be found on West Point Lake for later enjoyment of this magnificent fish.

I supply rods, reels and tackle. You supply the adrenaline!

If you want special beverages or snacks just bring them along. There's a cooler in the boat with plenty of water.

You'll be required to sign a waiver for release of responsibility in case of accident or injury. They do have teeth you know!

Digital photos or videos will be taken and emailed to you after the trip.
